2. Weekend at the Lakes
The Lake District is England’s largest national park. Take in the lush views and stretch your legs on one of the many incredible walks. You could even book a boat trip or if you’re really feeling adventurous, go gorge walking. Go Lakes has some great ideas - perfect for enjoying the great outdoors.
3. Spa Day
We all need some time to kick back, relax and be pampered every once in a while, so why not treat Mum to a spa day this March? Our friends at Virgin Experience Days have literally dozens of luxury spa days on offer. Combine your day with an afternoon tea or Champagne lunch and feel like you’ve really celebrated Mother’s Day in style!
4. Sparkly Celebration
Because no celebration is complete without a Champagne toast! From Prosecco to Laurent Perrier, as Virgin Wines say – life is too short for boring wine. Those spring and summer garden parties, BBQs, family celebrations and relaxing nights-in are sorted with their wide range of cases to suit every pocket.
5. Learn Something New
From chocolate making to tap dancing, why not try something new this March? Perhaps Mum has always fancied a ballroom dancing lesson or even wants to play a musical instrument. You could go along with her or arrange the lesson as a fun family day out.
6. Get Creative
Got a busy summer planned or trying to save some pennies for house renovations? You don’t have to break the bank this Mother’s Day. If you’ve got little ones, why not get them involved in something crafty? Spend the day pampering mum with breakfast, lunch and dinner, homemade gifts and hair/make-up sessions.
7. Donate Your Time
Has your mum got a charity that’s close to her heart? Pop along to your local animal shelter or care home and volunteer your time.
You could even organise a sponsored run, danceathon, or dog show. It might not be the most glamorous way to celebrate Mother’s Day, but helping a good cause is pretty amazing.
Our chosen charity this year is The British Lung Foundation and to raise money for them we’re getting sponsored to hold the creepy crawlies we’re most scared of. Granted this wouldn’t be your average Mother’s Day, but if it’s something new and helps those in need, then why not?!
8. Day at the Seaside
It’s early March and we are in the UK, so sun hats and shorts aren’t needed just yet! But if the weather is glorious, why not wrap up warm and take a stroll down the coast? Fish and chips and a coffee by the sea will no doubt take Mum on a trip down memory lane.
9. Spring Break
If you really want to spoil Mum, you could always book a weekend break. Hop on a train and visit a city or town you’ve never been to before. Spontaneity is the key to having fun sometimes. We’re in agreement with Disney – adventure is out there!
10. Shopping Spree
Struggling for ideas on what to get mum as a gift? Let her choose and you can treat yourself at the same time. A bit of retail therapy is good for the soul – ok that may be a made-up quote, but what’s the point in working hard when you can’t spoil yourselves every once in a while?
Whatever you’re doing this Mother’s Day. Celebrate in style and give your mum the day she deserves.

Enjoy!
