Bourne (Grimsthorpe) Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

English composer Thomas Linley (the younger) was known as the ‘English Mozart’. He would almost certainly have become as famous, if not more renowned than his German counterpart (and friend) had it not been for his untimely death in a boating accident on the lake at Grimsthorpe Castle when he was just 22.

Directions

Turn off the A1 at the Colsterworth roundabout and head towards Bourne on the A151. After eight miles, you will see Grimsthorpe Castle on the right hand side.

Do not drive in at the public gate. Pass this gate and continue to Grimsthorpe village.

Approximately 50m after the sign for Grimsthorpe village, you will find the Estate Office entrance on your right. This white picket fence is electrically controlled.

Access in and out of the park will be controlled by a crew member of Virgin Balloon Flights. Friends and family of passengers will need to leave promptly with the balloon retrieval vehicles on launching or will need to leave their vehicles parked until passengers return from the flight.
