Maidstone’s coat of arms includes a lion and a dinosaur. Not just any dinosaur, but Iggy the Iguanadon, whose skeleton was discovered in a town quarry back in 1834. He’s the first dinosaur to feature on any coat of arms, with a cast of the 125-million year old ‘resident’ on display in Maidstone Museum.
