Fun & Interesting Facts
Shrewsbury is home to the world’s first ‘skyscraper’, built back in 1797. While Dithering Flax Mill doesn’t stand much taller than many similar-sized mills of its era, it was the first ever multi-story iron-framed building built, making it the forerunner of every tower block and skyscraper the world over.
