Just a short drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, Biggar sits at the heart of the Scottish Borders and offers a sky-high adventure like no other. Depending on the breeze, you might float above the River Tweed as it winds through the Upper Tweed Valley or glimpse the hauntingly beautiful Neidpath Castle tucked into the landscape.

History lovers will be in their element. The area is steeped in fascinating tales—from the 1297 Battle of Biggar where William Wallace defeated the English, to the 1568 defeat of Mary Queen of Scots’ forces at Langside. Even the local graveyards hold secrets, like the ancestors of former Prime Minister William Gladstone resting beneath the Church of St Mary, built in 1546.
